Listed below are frequently used terms when booking an event within the Yale School of Management.
- Yale SOM – Yale School of Management
- SOM Events Office – The office responsible for logistics of events in SOM manages facilities. The office connects clients with the services needed to manage events.
- Client – Group or individual using Yale SOM facilities and/or services
- Confirmation – Document generated and sent to all Yale SOM clients when they reserve space. The document details the rooms, services, and charges (if applicable).
- EMS – Event Management System. This system houses all room reservations and details
- EMS Web App - System clients use to book space and services
- SOM Community Member – Yale SOM faculty, staff, or student
- SOM Affiliated - Yale groups that have an affiliation with SOM but whom are not directly housed within the school.
- Non-SOM – Yale departments with no direct affiliation to SOM
- External – Clients who are not directly affiliated to Yale
- SOM Hospitality – Yale SOM’s in-house catering service
- BEO – Banquet Event Order
- Rental Agreement – Document generated for all non-SOM clients detailing their rooms, services, and charges.
